THE 2000 North Worcestershire Bikeathon was an outstanding success and the organisers would like to thank all those involved.
First and foremost are the 800 cyclists who came from all over the county and beyond and who pledged the amazing sum of £30,000 (far exceeding totals in previous years).
We would also like to thank our sponsors, NatWest and Compuccino's cyber cafe; the owner of Mere Hall for allowing us to use his land; Speeds Cycles, Halfords and Baylis's for taking entries, and everyone who helped on the day.
Our thanks are also due to the Advertiser/-Messenger for helping us to publicise the event so successfully.
The Leukaemia Research Fund appreciates enormously the support it receives from the people of Bromsgrove, Redditch, Droitwich Spa and beyond.
Sue Knoll,
North Worcestershire Bikeathon secretary.
