ALVECHURCH began the match in lethargic fashion and as a result found themselves 1-0 behind after only five minutes. However, as the game progressed the midfield of Keighley, Carroll and Morrison began to stamp their authority and a fine solo run and blistering shot from Morrison levelled the score after 15 minutes. This seemed to open the floodgates and Alvechurch added another 6 goals before the interval, five from Morrison and Jordan Jones the other.
After the break Yardley's defence stemmed the flow of goals but Alvechurch scored two more, firstly from Keighley from close range and then Morrison with his seventh goal. Yardley scored late in the match from a corner to make it 2-9.
