TOWNSFOLK are being urged to plan escape routes from their homes in case a blaze breaks out.
The move comes as part of Fire Safety Week which was launched today in an attempt to reduce the number of lives lost in house blazes.
Redditch fire station's Station Officer Richard Lawrence said many deaths could be prevented if whole families took basic precautions by drawing up clear plans.
