LAST week, the Labour group on Redditch Council forced through their proposals for the latest package of cuts to services, made necessary by their systematic overspending in the past.
The Liberal Democrat councillors, Diane Thomas and Nigel Hicks, didn't even have an opinion, either on the Labour group's proposals or on ours. They didn't say a word.
They voted with the Labour group against our amendment and then abstained on the final vote.
They always have an opinion on matters they can campaign on in Abbey Ward but when it comes to major policy and spending issues, their minds seem to go blank.
Is this what the people of Redditch are looking for from their elected representatives?
Councillor Carole Gandy
Conservative Group Leader
Redditch Council
