MORE than a third of Gloucestershire's garages now have fuel, so police in the county are hoping for an end to the sight of queues on the county's roads outside filling stations.
Cotswold District Council says services which were slightly disrupted at the end of last week will also return to normal from today (Monday). Poop scoop bins will be emptied and there will also be extra street cleaning from today to make up for the days lost last week when the council was trying to conserve fuel.
As drivers find it easier to get petrol, police are also hoping for an end to petrol siphoning incidents, which were reported several times last week. Two youths caught attempting to siphon petrol from a car in Station Road, Chipping Campden, in the early hours of last Saturday (September 16) were later arrested by Warwickshire Police.
