MALVERN Victoria's County Championship winning rink's successful season has come to a close with a flurry of matches.
Last Friday evening the team finished joint second at the Droitwich Spa BC open event without losing a game.
On Saturday in the Three Counties Championships, held at the Worcester BC, they were defeated by the Herefordshire Champions from Ledbury by two shots and then on Sunday in the quarter-final of the Midlands Championship the strong Nottinghamshire champions, who retained their title this year, were the visitors to Victoria Park and ran out winners by one shot.
- Their season ends this Sunday when Victoria's Jeff Jones and Eddie King pair up against Nigel Wilson and Paul Buxton of Manor Park in the Malvern Inter-Club final of the Express TV Pairs Trophy.
The Vera Aldous Mixed pairs final is between Graham and Sybil Hall of Victoria BC versus Jeff and Jean Meek of Manor Park BC.
Both matches are to be played at Manor Park on Sunday (Sept 17) and start at 3pm.
