WITH the Malvern Squash Club rapidly approaching its half century, chairman Roy Wright received a rousing vote of confidence from this year's AGM.

The club was happy to report that in spite of a downturn in playing numbers elsewhere, it has well maintained its membership levels and strides forward into the new century in good heart.

Membership fees are to be kept at the current encouraging level and the courts will be available during th e daytime to all racketball players, new or established (with free equipment and free coaching!).

Club captain Dale Wilde presented a glowing report following his first team's march to the top of their division and only marginally less successful seasons were enjoyed by the second team and by the ladies who are still hopeful of being presented with the County Plate which they won at Manor Park.

Sadly the services of two of last year's most promising young players, Sam Broad and Oliver Jones, will be lost to the calls of university life before the new season's matches get under way.

The new season starts in earnest at the Club with the Roger Ison Celebration Doubles Tournament at the end of September and team matches starting in October. Contact Hugh Webber on (01886) 832817.
