YOUR recent front page headline refers to Silicon Valley. As I remember, this phrase was coined about 25 years ago when "silicon" represented a recent breakthrough in semi-conductor technology.
To describe our Science Park as a "British Silicon Valley" paints a picture of Malvern trailing along 25 years behind California.
Cannot DERA, for example, find a name which suggest a more recent technology? Further, would it not be better to describe Malvern as a hill rather than as a valley?
S RATCLIFFE, Mason Close, Malvern.
