MOTORISTS were urged to exercise restraint today (Friday) (Sept 15) as fuel supplies slowly returned to normal in the Vale.
Queuing vehicles brought much of the southbound traffic on Evesham High Street to a standstill this morning as motorists waited to fill up at Cheltenham Road's Esso Station.
Police said there had been a 'marked improvement' in fuel supplies overnight and expected more deliveries later today.
The police-led group of agencies which has been dealing with the crisis, issued a statement saying a 'substantial number' of stations were now selling fuel to the public.
But police appealed to motorists to continue conserving fuel and using alternative means of transport for the time being and to listen to local radio stations for further updates on which garages have fuel.
