I AGREE with the person who complained inYou Say that children themselves are destroying the play areas throughout Warndon.

It's the same at Brickfields Park. The city council has done its best time and time again. Having made the play area nice and putting down the soft floor covering for safety, almost immediately along came the children, gouging out huge chunks of the flooring and throwing white paint around.

The council returned and repaired it and cleaned off the paint, followed again by these children and their wrecking. The council had to resort to fencing off the roundabout for safety - no sooner done than the kids pulled that down as well. So the council have had to remove the roundabout.

I dare say their parents will cry that their little dears have nowhere to play.

I know what I would do - fence the whole of Brickfields Park off and keep them all out, only letting them back in the unlikely event of their parents teaching them how to respect their environment.

The adults are no better. The rubbish over there, especially in the little wooded area at the top of the field, is a disgrace.

Some of the people whose gardens back on to it just dump their rubbish over their fences - mattresses, cookers, old radios, black bags of heaven-knows-what.

No wonder there's no hope for the kids. These people couldn't care less about the environment.
