IF our stop-start summer has left you feeling a little washed out and the strain of watching our cricketers overcome a creaking Caribbean Eleven, has proved too much, the you are obviously suffering Revellers withdrawal symptoms.

But put aside the leeches, help is at hand, they're back, having decided it is now quite safe to come out of hiding. The Revellers first offering is a Harvest Supper (which always goes down well!). The entertainment for the evening will be of a folksy nature and they have been lucky enough to secure the services of Alan Tipple and Jane, who will sing to guitar and flute.

Proceeds will as usual go to the continual refurbishment of the Village Hall. The Revellers contributions over the last few years has helped 'The Old Lady' to be fitted with a new kitchen, windows and curtains, as well as encouraging a less boring class of woodworm!

The date for the supper is Saturday, September 30 at the later time of 8pm. Tickets at £6 can be obtained from Barbara Savery 562904 or Pat O'Malley 575682.

To facilitate catering please book tickets by Wednesday, Sept 27.

Meanwhile at the Hall last Wednesday, hearts were pounding during the Village Lunch. No, it was not an enhancement of the cholesterol level, brought about by an excessive sweet spread. It was the first draw of the recently formed 205 lottery. Ironically the first number drawn for £25 was 13. That was followed by 32 (£15) and 40 (£10). Names have been withheld to protect the lucky winners! The draw will take place each month at the Village Lunch, which is held on the first Wednesday at noon. £500 has been donated to the Village Hall Refurbishment Fund.
