LONGDON Leapfrogs has begun its Autumn term recently.

A very exciting programme has been planned including cabbage leaf printing, glove puppets, Autumn collages, bulb planting and apple and blackberry crumbles. The group meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30-noon, and is open to anyone aged 0-4 years. Please contact Anne Houghton on (01684) 833258 for further details.

The PFA Committee of St Mary's School would like to thank everyone who supported any of their events at the end of last term. These included the sports evening, the non-uniform day, cake stall and line dancing evening. A total of £468.56 was raised and the proceeds will go towards a new all-weather playground.

The service at St Mary's Church on Sunday (September 17) will be Harvest Festival Evensong at 6.30pm. St Mary's Church Choir will be helping to lead the worship.

Don't forget to book your place at the Harvest Suoper on Saturday, September 23. The venue is Longdon Village Hall and the time is 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £3 and £1.50 for children. Bridge Builders meet on Sunday (September 17) 11.15am-12.30pm, at Longdon Vicarage. We will be learning about the conversion of Paul through stories, games and crafts.

On Thursday, Sept-ember 21 the Emmaus Bible Group meets at Longdon Vicarage at 7.30pm. Newcomers are always welcome to this friendly group.

Members of Outer Limits Youth Group have now returned from an active weekend at the Far Forest Diocesan Centre. A great time was had by all in spite of one or two minor mishaps, an infestation of wasps and very little sleep!

On Monday, Sept-ember 4 the Probus Club held its weekly meeting at the Hunter Inn. The speaker was the Vicar of Tewkesbury Abbey, Canon Michael Tavinor, who gave a Vicar's view of Tewkesbury Abbey illustrated with slides.
