AFTER losing the toss West Malvern were asked to bat at Mathon Court on Saturday and proceeded to lose wickets at regular intervals to the bowling of Leech and Tenney.
WEST MALVERN v NEWLAND
Recovering to declare at tea for 171 for 6 from 41 overs with B Pleass top-scoring with 58 and C Martin with 38 and also having the unusual total of 51 extras being awarded.
Newland after a steady start increased the pace testing the West bowlers and both openers finished unbeaten with excellent batting performances from C Genever 69no and J Brewer 75no after 31 overs to win with six overs to spare.
