MALVERN Civic Society presented its green plaque to Waitrose, winner of its 2000 award, this week.
Chairman Katherine Barber handed the plaque to Tim Leader, manager of the Edith Walk supermarket.
She said: "Great care has been taken in the design and execution of the building and its surroundings."
The award scheme was inaugurated in 1993 to recognise the best new and refurbished buildings in Malvern each year. Runners-up this year were the Malvern Hills Science Park and the new housing estate at Russell Grove, Malvern Link.
