WORRIES about whether an old garage site is suitable for a housing development have delayed a decision on a scheme to build three four-bedroomed homes at Wolverley.

Wyre Forest district councillors agreed an engineer's report was needed to test whether the plot strewn with old tyres and contaminated with engine oil on Showells Garage land at Franche Road is safe.

They also supported Wolverley and Cookley Parish Council's call for an expert's opinion on whether a cracked 10ft high brick wall would stand up to activity on the site.

The council's planning (development control) committee meeting last week decided to put off a decision until the reports are available.
