SLICK singing and dancing and some not-so-silky acting graced the stage but shortcomings in the thespian abilities fail to matter in this rip-roaring homage to the decade of long cars, long skirts and short records.

In terms of a fun night out it cannot, I guarantee, be beaten.

Steven Houghton (London's Burning) had some tricky shoes to fill in the role of Danny and although he sang marvellously, his American accent veered from Bill and Ted through Sir Les Patterson and ended at James Bond.

The female star of the show is not, as most believe, Sandy, played competently by Irene Warren, but the original tart-with-a-heart Rizzo who was brought to life by Rachel Hale, one of the most talented singers and actors on the stage.

The highlight, has to be the arrival of Teen Angel (Paul Burnham) down a shimmering staircase in silver foil trousers and matching bouffant, surrounded by sparkling beauty therapists. High camp at its greatest!
