Bidford Ladies 7, Ilmington 2

SEVEN goals gave Bidford the best of starts to their new season in a match that showed striker Lisa Workman has lost none of her goal touch.

She hit a hat-trick and her first half brace and further strikes from Sarah Powell, Karen Walker and Faye Marchant saw the hosts take complete control against their Cotswolds rivals.

Workman and Marchant soon made it 7-0 after the restart but the young visiting side kept on battling and were rewarded with two goals in the closing minutes.

Blockley Ladies 1, Evesham 3

BOTH sides produced some good play last Saturday but chances were scarce in an even opening half.

However, Blockley started the second period with a real flourish and Olivia Drinkwater opened the scoring with a beautifully taken goal after she seized on to a pass from Kerry Cassey.

Evesham fought back and caught their Cotswolds rivals napping with a lovely reverse flick to level the scores.

This proved the catalyst for Evesham to score twice more not in keeping with the run of play as Blockley were left reflecting on a defeat.

Blockley Ladies 4

A BEAUTIFULLY prepared surface greeted the two sides on another hot afternoon when it took the visitors some time to get into the match.

But, after some good moves instigated by the excellent Jo Peachey, Kerry Cassey finally broke the deadlock with a superb strike.

Blockley's defence was given an arduous second half test but it emerged unscathed with Jayne McGrath and Donna White-house catching the eye.

At the opposite end, Blockley made full use of their chances as Cassey, Olivia Drinkwater and Chris Grant all scored.

Bretforton Ladies 8, Westfields 1

SUNDAY saw an improvement to the previous day's form as goals flowed freely from the hosts.

Gilly Wright's astute flick from an acute angle started the rout and Sophie Corbett's sharp shot into the corner quickly made it 2-0.

A reverse stick strike from Wright and a fine move which ended with Lisa Workman finding the net made it 4-0 at the interval.

Bretforton continued to dominate after the break and Workman didn't take long to double her individual tally.

Wright then completed her treble before a mistake by the home goalkeeper allowed Westfields a consolation.

Junior member Tina James joined in the goal feast with her side's seventh before rampaging defender Lesley Harrison notched her yearly goal with delight.

The previous day, Bretforton drew 2-2 with Bourton at Evesham. Corbett levelled an early Bourton goal, while Workman then saved face with a late equaliser.
