ICOMB residents have stepped in to restore a village feature that has not worked for almost 50 years.
Three residents, Heather Harries and Stephen and Joy Moss, stumped up the cash to have the old village pump restored by Bourton blacksmith Timothy King, who made a new handle for it. It fell into disrepair after mains water arrived in Icomb in 1948.
The water level in the well below the pump is now too low for water to be extracted.
