FUN loving punters from the Vale and beyond are signing up for a wacky wellie challenge.
The Wot No Horse, Wellies Course Fun Run will be held at the Vale of Evesham Show, at Moyfield Riding School, South Littleton on September 24, at 5pm, in aid of the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust.
It requires entrants to run or walk a mile across fields, rain or shine, with optional jumps, and a compulsory stream wade!
"That's what the wellies are for," said organiser and Trust founder, Sue Sollis.
"We want people of all ages to take part. Entry is free - all we ask in return is that competitors pledge to raise a minimum of £5 in sponsorship for the Trust."
Entrants have much to gain, however. They will be given a free pass to the Vale of Evesham Show, there will be medals for all completing the course, plus a free pair of wellies to the first adult and first child finishing - courtesy of shoe retailer Olivers Timpson.
To encourage sponsorship, John Brooks, of Winchcombe, has donated a hand-made miniature solid silver horseshoe to present to the top fund raiser who hands over his or her sponsorship by October 24.
Joyce Heritage and her daughter-in-law Tzatia Heritage, from Evesham, are busy badgering friends and family for sponsorship and limbering up for the big day.
"We're looking forward to loads of laughs and raising money for a very good cause," said Joyce.
