CHILDREN are thought to be behind a blaze at a Stourport beauty spot which firefighters spent more than six hours tackling.
Crews were called to Burlish Top at 3.30pm on Monday and left the scene just before 10pm, before returning the following day to ensure the fire had not flared up again.
At the height of the inferno, which destroyed three acres of grass, gorse and heathland, Kidderminster and Stourport firefighters were backed up by teams from Bromsgrove and Droitwich.
A Kidderminster Fire Station spokesman said youngsters were likely to have started the blaze, which was followed by a separate smaller grass fire on open land off the Birchen Coppice estate in Kidderminster.
