UP to 100 people were expected to gather last night to discuss controversial plans for a community help centre next to a Kidderminster school.
Greenhill Action Group was due to spell out its worries when it met at St George's Club, Radford Avenue.
They were due to discuss the Worcestershire County Council scheme for an Early Excellence Centre in the grounds of St George's First School.
Action group spokesman Mike James said 95 per cent of people in the area seemed to be against the plan.
The council has promised a consultation exercise on the £460,000 Government backed scheme to create centres that bring public and voluntary community services under one roof in areas of need.
