WYRE Forest got off to a dream start in their Midland Football Combination Division Two fixture against Malvern, scoring twice in the first 15 minutes.
But they lost their way in the second half and went down 4-2 even though their oppnents were reduced to 10 men.
Glen Beaman gave Forest the lead, thumping in a shot from close range, and Andy Oakes added the second following a good move by Darren Raybould.
Malvern suffered as blow when Craig Jones was sent off for elbowing Robert Dew but Forest needed some great saves from Phil Oliver to keep them ahead at half-time.
The second half saw a dramatic turnaround as Justin McClurg (2), Lee Lavery and Lee McBain scored for Malvern.
On Saturday Forest are at home to Lichfield, kick-off 2.45pm. Players should meet at the ground at 1.15pm.
