Littleton 5, Archdales 2

LITTLETON put last week's defeat behind them with a convincing 5-2 victory over newly promoted Archdales.

Littleton dominated the first half with Darren Reeves and Chris Wright constantly pushing forward from midfield to put added pressure on Arch-dales defence.

It took 20 minutes for the first goal to arrive. Perry Beddoes headed down to Des Cox, he in turn passed to Steve Pitcher who curled a shot from 16 yards past the keeper.

Three minutes later it was 2-0. Again Pitcher was the scorer this time receiving from Reeves.

Littleton went 3-0 up on 37 minutes, when Cox headed home a Curtis Major corner.

At the other end Beddoes made a spectacular goalline clearance to prevent Arch-dales reducing the deficit but, immediately on the restart, they did pull a goal back when Phil Turpin converted a 20- yard free kick.

Chris Wright then scored the goal of the game. Picking up the ball in his own half, he ran through the midfield, and from fully 25 yards chipped over the keeper.

However, Archdales came back again and scored through Mark Boyes from close-range.

For a few minutes Littleton looked shaky, but a Cox second, following a Reeves pass, settled the nerves and the score.
