VANDALS have wrecked a fence running alongside a Kidderminster brook - just two days after it had been repaired with £1,500 of council taxpayers' money following a previous wrecking spree.

The district councillor for the area has hit out at the vandals, fearing for the safety of people who go near the brook, on Spennells Valley Road.

Councillor Helen Dyke had campaigned for cash to mend the fence after the first attack. She said: "Within two days, someone had cut the wire and started unravelling it all the way along."

She added: "You're just appalled, when you've gone to that time and trouble. Wyre Forest District Council has paid for it. The workmen have repaired it and people just won't leave it alone."
