Garringtons Sunday FC (7) 14

Thomas Brothers (0) 0

PREMIER Division Garringtons took 25 minutes to open the scoring against Division Five outfit Thomas Brothers in Round One of the Terry Cup.

But it was well worth the wait as Craig Riley scored a fine individual goal to open the floodgates. Riley crossed for Peter Ellis to head home a minute later and Riley completed his hat-trick with two fine individual goals shortly afterwards. Dean Tilley made it 5-0 in the 30th minute.

Gary Eades played a great through ball for Riley to net his fourth and he grabbed his fifth on the stroke of half-time following good work by Steve Evans and Paul Hutchings.

The second half started where Garringtons left off as Rob Powell crossed for Peter Ellis to score from close range. They went further ahead in the 55th minute when Martyn West crossed for Ellis to complete his hat-trick.

In their next attack Stuart Gaffney crossed for West to make his way onto the scoresheet and Riley added another on 70 minutes when he scored from a spectacular overhead kick.

In the 75th minute Peter Shaw scored from a corner and West increased the lead in the 77th minute. Right on time, Paul Hutchins scored to complete the rout.
