Southcrest Celtic U13s 11 Lillington Rangers 3

CELTIC got off to a flying start with a great team performance. Goals came from Sean Ivory (3), Sean Convey (5), Ryan Gibson (2), and Lee James-Aldridge. Man of the match was Ross Millward.

Feckenham U10s 8 Coldland Colts Dragons 1

IN A competitive match Feckenham produced a very good performance with goals from Daniel Hopkins, Ben Bonser (2) and Ryan Millard (2) to make it 5-1 at half-time. However, excellent goalkeeping by Andrew McNally kept the score high.

The second half continued as the first with more goals from Lorcan Davenport, Joe Knight and man of the match Ben Bonser.

Ulversley Hawks 3

Alvechurch U9s 7

ALVECHURCH began their first season in the Central Warks League with a resounding away win. Ulversley began in lively fashion but good solid work from the Alvechurch defence prevented them taking an early lead and Alvechurch gradually began to get the upper hand.

The second half saw Alvechurch play some excellent football to run out 7-3 winners with goals from J Jones (3), Morrison (2), Lane and Keightley.

Feckenham Colts U11s 5 Finham Park Rangers 0

A DIFFICULT game in very hot conditions saw the home side take all the points. Carl Bryant opened the scoring with a brilliant free kick followed by Jason Larkins and another from Bryant before half-time.

Both teams found it difficult in the heat but goals from James Wheatcroft and Daniel Tilley put the game safe for Feckenham. Man of the match was Carl Bryant.

Chelmsley Town 2 Feckenham Juniors U11s 3

FECKENHAM enjoyed a winning start to the campaign against hardworking Chelmsley. Nick Short's 20-yard free kick gave Feckenham a dream start after eight minutes and Dan Bearcroft scored five minutes later. Feckenham stayed on top until 25 minutes when Hunt scored from a corner and a second half fight-back gave Richards the chance to level the scores at 2-2.

Feckenham dug deep and with Matt Vincent and Lawrence Robinson solid at the back, man of the match Dan Bearcroft sealed the victory for new manager Simon Bailey when he scored from an acute angle after rounding the keeper following a flowing three-man move down the right.

Bournville Crusaders 3 Feckenham Juniors Elite U8s 4

MAN of the match and team captain William Hadley got his team off to an excellent start this season. He scored his first league goal in the opening minutes of this very exciting clash before going on to score three more.

Greg Smith made all the play in midfield, allowing Hadley to take his team another goal ahead soon after. Crusaders battled well and got a goal just before half-time.

A second half saw a very determined Crusaders come back making Feckenham work very hard. As well as making many chances of his won striker Matthew Hodgetts helped Hadley to his hat-trick. Crusaders did not give up and managed to get another goal and a late penalty for Crusaders came too late to save them from defeat.

Callowbrook Swifts 3 Redditch Utd U12s 5

REDDITCH'S first match of the season was against stiff opposition and it was Swifts who took the initiative by scoring the first goal. Redditch fought hard and scored an equaliser from Daniel Hirons who scored another on half-time from the penalty spot.

Redditch had the upper hand in the second half and Daniel scored early on for his hat-trick. The lads went on to create more chances and Caswell Barnett failed to find the net only for Daniel to slot home his fourth. Callowbrook continued to battle and scored a screamer and then hassled the defence to score their third. Redditch responded yet again and from a well worked corner Mark Allen produced his first goal of the season for Redditch to claim all three points. The whole team gave an excellent all-round performance.

Hampton Sports 2 Headless Cross Utd U10s 4

CROSS took control of the game from the start. After five minutes they were one up and they scored again ten minutes later. Hampton came back to make it 1-2 at half-time.

The second half was played in good spirit and Cross scored two more, the last in the final seconds, to end up worthy winners. The scorers were Josh Whiting (2), Tom Collins and Sean Mason.

Halesowen Town Juniors 0 Kingfisher Colts U10s 1

KINGFISHER started their campaign with a well-earned away win. Dominating the first half the Colts took the lead when Kingsley Smith slotted home following a good save from the Halesowen keeper mid-way through the first half. The Colts could not turn their many chances into goals and Jordan Gautier, Jamie Reddish and Matt Young all went close following good midfield work from Mark McAllister and Chris Bright.

The second half was more even with Colts keeper William Major-McKay tipping over a long-range effort. However, solid defending from Sam Hartles, Daniel Allen and Daniel Thomas ensured the Colts secured the three points and they won on the opening day for the first time in the last three seasons.

Kingfisher Jets U10s 2 Kings Norton 0

AN EXCELLENT performance by Jets ensured a comfortable win. The Jets gave debuts to Gavin Long and Jake Lewis and both lads contributed to a good all round performance. Luke Grant opened his account in the first half when his shot was deflected past the Norton keeper and then Gavin Long fired home in the second half to increase the lead.

Binbrook Utd 5 Kingfisher Rockets U10s 3

NEW team Rockets enjoyed their first ever league game against Binbrook. Despite the score Rockets played well and the scorers were Jack Sharpe, Thomas Bewley and Matthew Smith.

Solihull A 8 Feckenham Juniors U9s 1

ALTHOUGH the final score suggests this game was one-way traffic, this was simply not the case. Having conceded two early goals Feckenham battled well and pulled a goal back with a fine strike from Jamie Styler. The game remained evenly balanced for 50 minutes before tiredness and lack of strength and depth saw them concede six goals late one. Man of the match was Michael Burchill.

Kingfisher Colts U15s 2 Bordesley Rovers 0

COLTS got off to a great start with a solid display. Colts took the lead early on through Matt Rose and also squandered four or five opportunities in the first half.

The second half was a little more even but Colts always looked like scoring the second and decisive goal which eventually came in the last minute when James Mason followed up on an Adam Hartles piledriver which struck the post and fell at his feet.

A pleasing performance considering there were six new signings in the line-up. Man of the match was Andy Harris.

Feckenham Wanders U15s 3 Highgate Colts 1

EARLY pressure from Highgate was well dealt with when keeper Steven Grogan pulled off a couple of outstanding saves. Twelve minutes into the game Feckenham's captain Paul Kavanagh struck home the first and with half-time approaching Steven Ordidge made it 2-0.

The second half saw Feckenham stretch their lead when Craig Frampton made it 3-0. Highgate kept battling and got a consolation goal. Man of the match was Steven Grogan.

Knowle Ladies 3 Redditch Utd Girls U16s 5

REDDITCH started brightly, creating several opportunities before conceding a penalty. Undeterred, the Reds reached half-time 2-1 up through goals from Natalie Taylor and Natalie Leroux.

Redditch continued to be the more dominant team and extended the lead after an own goal. Further goals from Taylor and Leroux maintained the margin despite a spirited response from Knowle who scored twice following defensive lapses. Player of the match was Eve Allcock.

Redditch Utd Girls U12s 4 Rugby Utd 4

REDDITCH took command early in the game, scoring twice through Ann Williams and a third shortly before half-time from Emma Payne. A missed penalty and good goalkeeping kept them in the game and saw them gain the upper hand in the second half. With virtually the last attack Rugby gambled and a fine solo run saw them equalise. Player of the match was Claire Bagnell.

Bustleholme 6 Redditch Utd Girls U10s 0

THIS was a good performance from a team with only one player who has competitive match experience. They were 5-0 at the break but re-organised and looked more assured in the second half. Player of the match Iesha Martin.

Olton Ravens 2 Kingfisher Colts U9s 2

COLTS were soon into their familiar game of passing and were rewarded when Ricky Allan scored from a corner. New signing Paul Downing put a great ball through for Joe Adams who laid it off for the oncoming Tom Warbrick to score.

The second half saw Olton come back and they scored a penalty and then soon after a 20-yard strike. An outstanding debut from Paul Downing was backed up by Tom Warbrick and Callum Clarke in midfield and Ben Hommans and Ricky Allan in defence.

Bromsgrove Town 1 Headless Cross Harriers 1

HARRIERS took the lead with a superb header from Jack Frampton. Bromsgrove equalised at the start of the second half. Both teams created more chances but failed to find the net. Man of the match was Jack Frampton.

Birmingham Rangers 4 Hunt End Rangers U12s 3

AFTER two good wins against local sides Hunt End were ready to start their new campaign full of confidence. Hunt End started well but found themselves 2-0 down and then Birmingham added a third before the break.

Hunt End played Birmingham off the park in the second half with great goals from Steve Roche (2) and a great glancing header from Darren Bostock to get back into the game. Unfortunately, Birmingham got the winner right at the end. Chris Yardley was man of the match.

Droitwich 0 Norton Rangers U14s 3

NORTON kicked off with a good away win. Within three minutes a high delivery resulted in an own goal by Droitwich.

James Ash scored after ten minutes of the second half and Scot Williams scored a classic to take all the points.

Maypole Juniors 0 Redditch Utd U8s 6

ROBERT Ambrose scored a superb hat-trick in the first league match of the season. Constant pressure saw the Reds 4-0 up at half-time with two goals from Ambrose, Ben Warmington and Aaron Jordan. Maypole had the run of play at the start of the second half but excellent defending by Andrew Edwards and Lewis Solway kept them out. Good midfield work by Richard Higo set up Aaron Jordan for his second goal to put Reds ahead by five goals and Robert took his third soon afterwards.

Bustleholme 1 V Headless Cross

Diamonds 0

AFTER a mid-week friendly against Knowle Ladies when Diamonds came out winners 4 - 0, hopes were high for the first league fixture of the season.

At about the mid-way point in the first half, Bustleholme took the lead with a long-range shot that Diamonds keeper managed to get her hands to but could not stop the ball crossing the line.

Diamonds went closest with shots from Sadie Parrot and Natalie Plant. Player of the match was Rachel Harrison.
