With reference to your article in the September 6 issue relating to the dedication of the new war memorial in Rubery.

I agree whole heartedly with your report about the good turnout of the local community of Rubery along with the Rubery Air Training Corp plus the pupils from Waseley Hills High School.

Although I realise that space in your paper is at premium, I still felt it was very remiss that Rubery Youth Marching Band did not warrant a mention at all, even though these hard working young musicians actually led the parade from the Rose and Crown to the Legion and also played the Last Post. I would have thought that this was rather a major role to play in the proceedings. Surely these youngsters deserve recognition.
