THREE members of the same family were attacked by a Redditch man dressed as the Incredible Hulk outside a Halloween disco at a south Warwickshire social club.

As a result, teenagers Lucy and Sam James both had bruising, but their father, Michael James, suffered a fractured bone around his right eye and damage to the cornea, which needed surgery and is still causing him pain.

Their attacker, Keith Flemming, 25, of Mickleton Close, Oakenshaw, was jailed for 15 months after he pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to two charges of common assault and one of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Simon Ward, prosecuting, said that at the end of October last year, the James family, of St Martin's Avenue, Studley, were among revellers at a Halloween disco held at the Entaco Sports and Social Club in the town.

During the evening, Flemming argued with his girlfriend and when Lucy, 17, went to the girl's aid, Flemming responded by pushing and punching her

Sam, aged 18, went to his sister's aid but was also punched by Flemming, who then turned on the pair's father and punched him hard in the face.

When he was arrested, Flemming, who has previous convictions for violence and was on licence at the time from a prison sentence for assaults on his girlfriend, claimed he had been acting in self-defence.
