WORCESTER City boss John Barton is confident he can clinch the loan signing of a Nationwide Conference midfielder this week.
Barton, whose squad is still ravaged by injuries, made an unsuccessful bid to bring the unnamed player into his squad in time for Saturday's 1-0 win over Moor Green.
But he is hopeful of movement in time for City's tricky away games at Cambridge City next Saturday and Bath City the following Tuesday.
He said: "I will have another look at it this week and we may know something for the middle of the week.
"The pattern of play and style of football is lacking, we are well aware of that. But most of our quality is sitting in the stand at the moment."
City's victory on Saturday, courtesy of a late Mike Wyatt strike, was their first home success since February and lifted them into eighth place in the Dr Martens League Premier Division.
City's youth team entertain Mangotsfield in the FA Youth Cup second qualifying round tonight (7.45).
