VILLAGE FAIR: Thanks go again to those who gave their time and energy to run the village fair. More than £3,000 was raised, of which a large proportion will go to village organisations. During the six years that Lloyd Thompsett has been involved with the fair, around £18,000 has been raised, and £14,000 has returned to the village. The 2001 committee will need some new members, and it would be a great help if volunteers would come forward before the AGM in October.

Please telephone 01684 772899 and find out what may be involved.

COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning in aid of Gorka Children's Hospital in Busko Zdroj, Poland, will be held at the home of Christine and Michael Collins on September 15, from 10.30am to noon. The hospital, we are told, specialises in orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation. You are invited to hear about the work of Director, D Januzz Dobrowolski and his team, and to contribute to the bring and buy, and other fund-raising stalls.

AUTUMN CLASSES: September sees the start of two yoga classes in the village, one on September 21 (01242 522613) and the second next Monday at 10am (01684 893979).

In Bredon's Norton, a University of Birmingham course on 19th century art and literature begins on September 25, at 2pm (772797).
