A HARD hitting campaign aimed at improving the behaviour of drivers will be coming to Redditch this month.

Worcestershire County Council's Road Safety Team has joined forces with West Mercia Police and the Worcestershire Institute of Advanced Motoring to launch a campaign encouraging motorists to drive more safely.

The Road Safety Team's message is based around the slogan "Don't be a Dummy" and will feature hard-hitting video footage and a crash test dummy to get the message across.

The dangers of drinking and driving and tiredness on long journeys will also be driven home when the team visits Tesco, Coldfield Drive, Oakenshaw, on September 15 and 16.

The team will also highlight the need for good vision and will recommend that people take eye tests every two years.

County road safety officer Roger Woodward said: "Our road safety officers will be at the roadshow to answer questions and give safety tips.

"We want to promote the message that some aspects of driver behaviour start before you get in the car.

"We hope lots of people will take the time to come along."

The team will be at Tesco between 10am and 2pm on September 15 and 10am and 4pm on September 16.
