WORCESTER City boss John Barton is hopeful of bolstering his squad in time for Monday's home clash with Clevedon Town.
Barton has been given permission by City's board to bring in loan signings to cope with an injury crisis.
He said there was little chance of new faces before tomorrow's game at Ilkeston Town, but said it was possible something could happen by Monday.
Barton added: "I have been making enquiries, but people don't want to let players go because it is early in the season.
"They have to be the right ones and people you think can do a job for you."
Former Kingstonian striker Carl Tranter, who scored twice for the reserves this week, is likely to be given another reserve outing before any decisions are made.
