THE Mikron Theatre Company is bringing two of its touring productions to Worcestershire by an unusual method - rivers and canals.
The four-strong troupe of actor-musicians tour on their fully-restored narrowboat Tyseley, performing at venues on the way.
This year their shows are Don't Start From Here, a modern musical love story which takes a satirical look at public transport, and Beer Street!, a celebration of pubs and ale. Their summer tour will eventually cover around 100 miles of waterway, with nearly 70 performances in pubs and other venues. In August, they will be cruising along the Worcester and Birmingham canal, the rivers Severn and Avon, and the Droitwich Canal.
If you want to see Beer Street!, it's on at the Ladybird Inn, Bromsgrove, on Monday, August 14; The Camp House Inn, Grimley, on Wednesday, August 16; and Peopleton Village Hall on Tuesday, August 22.
Don't Start From Here is on Tuesday, August 15, at the Commandery, Worcester, the Boat Inn, Ashleworth, on Friday, August 18, and The Royal Hop Pole Hotel, Tewkesbury, on Monday, August 21.
These are just a selection of their dates; the full itinerary can be found at www.mikron.org.uk
