EASTNOR lost by 60 runs in this home game on Saturday.
EASTNOR II v MALVERN RAMBLERS II
Ramblers were asked to bat first and soon lost Ian Dovey to an exceptional catch from 14 year old Faisal Khalid off the bowling of Ally Barnes. The same combination then removed D Cox and when Barnes also bowled A Dovey the visitors were 41-3.
Walwyn and Jauncey (19) then staged a recovery to take the score on to 102 when the latter was cooly caught by Razza off Barnes. The rest of the visiting batsmen made a contribution as they and Walwyn (52) took their score on to 194-9 off 50 overs with Barnes bowling excellently throughout to take 7-87 off 25 overs.
Eastnor's reply started badly as Southwood soon bowled Astbury with a brilliant delivery. Faisal and the attacking Aamir (35) then shared a good stand to take the score on to 65 when Aamir was bowled by Eastwood. Faisal and Razza got the score to 87 when the latter was also bowled and with Faisal being dismissed soon after for a very promising 36 and Lancett falling for one Eastnor were 101-5.
Ally Barnes (31no) and Neil Davies then fought back to take the score on to 132 when Davies was given out lbw off M Cox (4-43) who then removed the rest of Eastnor's batting to leave them all out for 134.
