TWO artists living in Malvern are showing their work in the exhibition Faces and Places, which opens on Monday (August 7) at The Gallery, 1 Worcester Road.
Roy Batchelor and Tony Jolliffe both hail from the south, Roy from Sussex and Tony from London.
Faces and Places is exactly that; Roy's work is of scenes, both local and of his beloved Sussex, while Tony's work is mainly portraits, human and animal, especially horses and dogs.
Roy taught himself to paint when he retired, boats and old buildings being his forte.
He now lives with his wife in North Malvern, where finding a dearth of boats and lack of sea, he has diversified from his original subjects.
Tony has lived in Malvern on-and-off for 20 years. He took up painting seriously four years ago at the summer school in Worcester College, and has been attending every term since under the tutorship of John Milsom. The exhibition runs until the end of the month.
