OUR love and very best wishes to a very special lady who celebrated her 80th birthday in grand style last Sunday with a very special tea party with invited guests at Berrow Village Hall.

Miss Una Bevan, I'm sure would like to thank everybody who had any part in making her day so very special. A service of Songs of Praise was held at Old Pendock Church in the evening with all hymns and reading chosen by Una. One of the hymns O Jesus I have promised was sung at Una's confirmation. Her favourite collect was from ASB, which was presented to Una when the book was first published. The service was conducted by Rev Dr Arthur Cunningham and the organists were Giles and Roger Turner. The church was filled to capacity. As if by order as the congregation came out of the church they were greeted with an array of hot air balloons, so Una even had her own royal fly past - country style.

Tickets are available for the Organ Recital in August at the same church at Pendock (across the field) with supper at Priors Court. A bargain at £5. Call (01531) 650346.

The grand total of £1,179.91 was raised at Berrow Fete. Winners of the raffle prizes were: 1st Prize - £50 Argos gift voucher: J Miles, Ledbury. 2nd Prize - Flight in light aircraft: Kate Gittings. 3rd Prize - MOT Windles Garage: C Greatwood. 4th Prize - Meal for two at Duke of York: John Swaby.
