Stratford Races
There was no repeat show for Welford trainer Barbara Waring and Cotswold jockey Warren Marston at Stratford last Saturday.
After joining forces to land a winner earlier last month Marston had to be content with a second place on Fair Toto, a winner at Luddington Road last time out.
Marston was in the saddle as Warings Bronhallow failed to make any impression in the afternoon's opener
The jockey followed up with second spot on David Wintle's Good Potential in the second race when Cool Waters, trained by Robin Dickin and ridden by Xavier Aizpuru, missed out.
There was success later in the day for the Alscote Park trainer when Skram won for the third time in six outings in a novices steeplechase, beating favourite Zabadi by 2 lengths.
Alcester trainer John Allen landed a second place in the penultimate race when Severn Gale trailed winner Impala by three lengths
Broom trainer Tony Carroll, who trained Moor Hall Lady to victory at the same meeting 12 months ago, landed a welcome winner when heavily backed 16-1 shot Italian Rose romped home in the opener at Nottingham. The winner was ridden by local jockey Sashi Righton. Moor Hall Lady, now trained at Alcester by Richard Brookhouse, failed to snatch a repeat in Saturdays penultimate run at Stratford.
