TELFORD United are to play their first six home Nationwide Conference games of the new season at Worcester City's St George's Lane ground.

Telford struck a ground-sharing deal with City last month for their opening home games, while work on upgrading their own Bucks Head ground is completed.

But problems with the pitch have forced Telford to extend the deal until the end of September.

Telford general manager Dawn Bird said: "The pitch has been seeded but we don't want to go on it until it has been given clearance.

"The stands are on line for completion - it is just the pitch.

"We are grateful to Worcester for helping us out. The facilities are similar to what we have had at the Bucks Head - it will be like a normal home game for us."

The games covered will be against Hayes on August 19, Forest Green on August 28, Rushden and Diamonds on September 2, Leigh RMI on September 12, Dover on September 16 and Kettering on September 26.

Worcester lost 3-1 at home to Second Division Bristol City in a friendly last night.
