VILLAGE FORUM: Matters discussed were: The increase in the volume of heavy-goods vehicles through the village and a report from the county council on its weight-restriction negotiations; the Bledisloe Cup best kept village competition; the millennium pool project; the poor state of the village roads and footpaths; and the district local plan proposals.

Grave concern was expressed by many that though the volume of HGVs had increased, the county council appeared to have done little to further the request for a weight-restriction order.

It was resolved that now that the Government had promised funds for road improvements, the parish council's proposal for a 'link road' from the A44 through to Honeybourne, previously accepted in principle but deferred on financial grounds, be revived, and the co-operation of Worcestershire CC and Wychavon CC villages be sought.
