PARISH COUNCIL: Matters arising: Councillor Coldicott had found a litter bin suitable for the junior playing field. Arrangements will be made for Mr D Moss to concrete the bin in a suitable place and for Coun Stow to organise weekly emptying.

Following site meeting it was agreed that something soon had to be done about the allotment area recently cleared and grass seeded adjacent to the church yard wall. A suitable quote has been given to have the area, rolled, cleared of stones, grass mowed and sprayed for weeds.

This area is designated as a garden of remembrance for cremations. Coun Coldicott suggested having the area designed for this, but this idea will be put on hold meanwhile, as it could be up to three years or more before this area is needed.

Mr Moss will be asked to point up the churchyard walls as before and a tree surgeon will be asked to check up on an oak and a blighted tree on the island of Arbour Close.

Mr Kemis of Gloucestershire County Council had replied to a schedule of work which needed to be carried out on the pavement and roads. It was of no surprise that a time commitment, was not given. Coun Trainor said we should continue to write monthly and pursue the matter of clearing away 350yds of turf, covering the pavement, along the Stratford Road.

The financial statement was agreed correct.

Mr Gillam, district councillor, said the Seyfried site meeting with Gloucestershire planners had taken place and the council would probably receive an amended plan in September. Of the Sims site an impact assessment study is in progress as an application has been made for developing 300,000 sq ft for industrial buildings. County councillor Mrs Girling was due at a meeting on Monday about integrated policies.

Mrs Girling mentioned speed checks the parish council had requested. She said the police, due to lack of manpower, required volunteer help with this, but she would pursue this matter, and report back.

Coun Stow asked why when the 30mph signs were moved down the Stratford Road they left the illuminated posts in position.

Coun Girling agreed to sought this matter out.

There is no August meeting. The next is on September 27, at 7.30pm.
