PARISH COUNCIL: County Council: Councillor Tom Bean reported on the structure plan. He said he opposed the extension at Twyford Countryside Centre because it was contrary to county and district policy.

District council: Coun George Bourne advised that the Village Plan would be available in 2002. Parish councils would be encouraged to be involved in discussion.

Matters arising: Burial ground - legal matters are progressing in respect of the purchase of land for extension to the burial ground. Planning permission has been applied for.

Speed restrictions: Correspondence and plans have been received for approval for road markings and signage in the village.

n Bretforton PCC: A letter of thanks was read for the donation of £275 towards the upkeep of the church clock and churchyard.

Clerk: The parish council does not have a clerk at present. Contact with the council should be made to Mr J James, chairman, until further notice.

School governor: Mrs S Willoughby has been appointed a LEA representative governor. A new parish council appointment will be made at the next meeting.

Memorial hall: Details of the tiles which will be used to reroof the hall had been received. Councillors felt that time was critical on the grant which was awarded for the project last year.

Audit: Notice of audit had been received. This had been set for Monday at Pershore Civic Centre.

Grant application: The recent application to Wychavon for work on the access to the sports club had been successful. A grant of £2,700 has been awarded.

Planning: Approved - Milton Ltd - Victoria Arms site, amended plans and LBC; construction of three dwellings, amended plans.

Mr and Mrs J Hancock - Upper End Farm, alterations/conversion.

Jasmine Nurseries - construction of glasshouse.

Roads/footways/greening of the village: Upper End Farm - concern had been expressed about the bricks used in the new wall. Confirmation has been received that colour is approved.

Potholes: Condition of the roads has deteriorated further. Areas would be listed and the Highways Partnership notified.

Visibility: Poor visibility was reported in Main Street at the junction with Coldicotts Lane, grass and saplings are high in the railings, unable to see oncoming vehicles from Badsey. Main Street on bend at junction outside Memorial Hall, unable to see vehicles approaching in Shop Lane, grass high in the railings. Orchard Close shrubs are covering a hydrant and part of the footpath leading to Orchard Close. Poor visibility when accessing onto New Street. All would be investigated.
