PARISH COUNCIL: Chairman, Councillor John Worby, welcomed all present. It was decided to defer the election of vice-chairman to the next meeting.

Matters arising: Potholes - the clerk was instructed to advise Wychavon re these including bottom of Short Hill and Upper End. County councillor Hardman thanked for endeavouring to get a more 'permanent repair' to the roads. Footpath 17 now open.

n Millennium celebrations: All in hand for the coming weekend.

Nafford Sluice: Now open.

n Speed strategy: A digital speed check will probably be done in the village.

Sewage treatment plant: Councillor Hardman advised that he had written to the chairman of Severn Trent supporting our objections. He was also to see the principal engineer of Severn Trent shortly.

Almhouses trustee: Mrs Karen Crowther had been appointed.

Grass cutting: Outside entrances to village had been done but letter to be sent re the grass which needs cutting.

Planning applications: There were no objections received re applications for Mr and Mrs Kirkland, Mrs Butler and Mr and Mrs Hartshorne. Councillor Wright advised that should the parish have objections to a particular application, he would be willing to voice objections on our behalf to the appropriate committee.

Wychavon: Local community safety groups - clerk instructed to ask for further details.

AOB: Paid Mr Harrington for hedge cutting £18 and village games £15.

n Wetlands: Clerk instructed to ask re an up-date or viewing for the villagers.

Some trees obscuring oncoming traffic, at the side of the cricket ground, perhaps need cutting back. Chairman said he would mention it to Major Porter.

Lower Avon Navigation Trust - it was advised that work was being done at the Swan's Neck Quay. Volunteers were needed to tidy up this part.
