ADLESTROP were strongly placed in their home match against Rodmarton in division two of the Cirencester League on Saturday when rain came and washed out the game.

They had amassed a formidable 200-6 with all their batsmen making useful runs and Alan Walker top scoring with 61. Sheikh with 3-33 was Rodmarton's best bowler.

The villagers entertained BBC Pebble Mill on Sunday and an entertaining high scoring game ended in a draw with the scores level at 230 each, as Matthew Barnes was run out going for the winning run off the last ball.

BBC were indebted to Humphries (87) and Payne (53) whose second wicket partnership of 110 laid the foundation of the innings, but Humphries was given three chances. Colin Hicks took 6-45 in eight overs of excellent off spin.

Adlestrop's younger element were their main run-getters, Odom (65) and Walker (49) put on 100 for the first wicket after which Keyte (38) and Matt Barnes (32) took part in a stand of 64 for the fourth. Pat Murphy with 3-58 was BBC's best bowler.
