YOUNG and old have been flocking to what is believed to be the only exhibition in the country celebrating the 80th birthday of world-famous Rupert the Bear.

County Museum at Hartlebury Castle is hosting a whole treasure trove of artefacts from a private collection of memorabilia including annuals and teddies, which have attracted fans of the bear with the famous yellow and black scarf from all over the country.

Rupert was "born" on 8th November 1920 and museum staff say his popularity has lived on well into the 21st century.

A museum spokeswoman said: "It's a big exhibition and has proved very popular since opening on July 14.

"Collectors and fans of all ages and been coming from all over the country to have a look. As far as we know it's a unique display."

The exhibition, which also features video shows, runs at the museum until September 10. More information is available on 01299 250416.
