SCOTT Stamps is rated at only 50-50 to make Kidderminster Harriers' Division Three opener with Torquay United.

The left-back picked up a thigh strain during Harriers' pre-season tour of Denmark and is now battling to be fit for the August 12 date.

If Stamps fails to make it, manager Jan Molby will be without any recognised left-sided player after letting Les Hines and Phil King leave during the summer.

Molby said: "There is a doubt whether he will be fit for August 12, I would rate him 50-50."

And despite Craig Hinton also picking up an injury on the tour, Molby hailed it as a success.

Harriers beat Danish non-league side Hornbaek 4-0 in their final match last Wednesday.

Barry Horne, who is still yet to sign for Kidderminster, scored while Andrew Corbett (two) and Tony Bird were also on target.

The game saw Molby make his first appearance in a Harriers shirt as a second half substitute.

Rene Petersen also joined up for a game in what was described, by other media, as his final appearance before an injury-induced retirement. However, Molby believes the 26-year-old will carry on playing.

On Saturday, Harriers slumped to a 2-0 defeat at non-leaguers Northwich Victoria. Adie Mike and Mark Devlin were the scorers.
