A TOWN centre pub keen to promote live music will be welcoming budding boy band Caf tomorrow evening as part of an ongoing programme of events.

Yate's Wine Lodge, in Alcester Street, hosts live bands on the first Thursday of every month.

Tomorrow's group is a five-piece boy band looking to make a break into the cut-throat music world but who, for now, will be playing cover versions of 90s pop hits.

Pub manager Andy Hewitt is keen to hear from more local acts eager to play to a live audience.

He said: "We do get a good response on a Thursday night from customers but I would love to put on more local bands.

"We normally have a DJ on from about 8pm and then the bands play.

"We've got a lot lined up and next month we'll have La Vida Loca playing, who are a Ricki Martin tribute act."

So the message to any budding pop stars in the area is to get practising and make a visit to see Andy.
