In order to preserve for future generations a pictorial history of Redditch and its neighbouring villages as they are now, the Redditch Urban and District Council is sponsoring a photographic survey of the district.
The council will shortly be calling a public meeting to launch the survey, which will include, in addition to the town of Redditch itself, the villages of Alvechurch, Beoley, Inkberrow and Wythall.
The object of the scheme is to secure an accurate record of the district past and present, its streets and buildings, its trades, costumes and customs and any subject that may be of interest to the local historian of the future.
Photographs of subjects likely to change are particularly valuable.
