A BREWERY giant wants to turn three empty shops in Bromsgrove's High Street into a pub restaurant.
Whitbread Plc has applied to Bromsgrove District Council to make the changes to the shops, which have flats behind and above them, and are situated opposite the town's main Post Office.
The plans include knocking down and replacing an extension at the back of the premises and creating a service access there.
The firm has also had to apply for listed building consent to transform the historic site which is commonly known as 'The Gables' and which date from the Victorian era.
A planning spokesman for Bromsgrove District Council confirmed an application had been received to change the use of buildings to a food and drink outlet.
