ON a rain-affected wicket making batting difficult, a young Redditch team were well beaten.
Batting first, Bretforton were made to work hard and were reduced to 73-9 but an unbroken last wicket stand of 92 enabled the home team to total 165-9 off their 45 overs. Alan White, 2-51 and Mat James 1-17 plus Richard Stokes, 1-29 and Liam Phelan 1-33 supported the experienced Marcus Busfield with 4-21.
In reply, Redditch lost two early wickets and never recovered. They were dismissed for 58. Marcus Busfield, 29, and Alan White, 14, were the only batsmen to show any form.
