MINDLESS vandals who throw things onto a town railway track are putting lives at risk, a councillor has claimed.
Droitwich Spa town councillor John Cook (Lab, Droit.West) campaigned for nine years to improve safety at the Colford Walk crossing but says youngsters who throw wood and bricks on the line are risking people's lives. He claims a gate to keep people away from the tracks has been broken and signs warning people to be careful have been daubed with graffiti.
He said: "I want to remind children not to play or throw things on the line. It could endanger lives, including their own."
He has called on Railtrack to carry out more inspections.
